Scientific Contribution Award
Starting this year, in a significant step towards fostering excellence, the founders and organizers of the Regional Symposium of Young Endocrinologists established an Award for Scientific Contribution in the region.
The Award for Scientific Contribution in the region is a prestigious award given to young endocrinologists and scientists in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the field of endocrinology. This award celebrates excellence in original, innovative research with exceptional quality and impact of the published paper in the early stages of the author’s career. Aimed at early career investigators (ECI), this award aims to highlight exceptional achievements that show promising talent and extraordinary discoveries.
Selection criteria include a variety of factors, including originality and significance of the research, the quality of the applied methodology, the overall quality and impact of the publication. Winning the award for “Scientific Contribution in the Region” represents a significant milestone for recipients, as it highlights their expertise and significant contribution to their fields at the beginning of their career. Apart from personal recognition, these recognitions serve to increase the visibility of their work, offering valuable opportunities for collaboration, funding and advancement in the career of ECI. This recognition is a testament to the dedication and potential of researchers in the early career stage, creating an environment that fosters research excellence and innovation.
Selection criteria:
The Scientific Contribution Award is awarded to an individual who meets the following criteria:
- The nominee should be in the early career stage (ECI)
a) Clinicians – Up to 5 years from specialty qualification
b) Scientists – PhD students or up to 10 years after PhD studies without clinical training - The nominee should be the first author of the publication
- The publication should refer to original research
- The publication should be published in the journal M22-M21-M21a
- The publication must be published in the period from January 2021 to January 2024
- Applications can be in the form of self-nominations or nominations of other candidates
- Each application must contain:
a) for journal articles: PDF containing clearly indicated the journal in which it was published; issue number and date.
b) Nominator: Name, last name, institution and email address for the person submitting the nomination.
c) Complete citation of the author and nominated paper in APA format.
d) A statement of what, in your opinion, makes this work exceptional. The contribution this paper made or the anticipated contribution in the field to which it belongs; his theoretical significance; the contribution this paper has made to improving clinical practice or understanding practices. The statement should be no longer than 250 words and should also be submitted in PDF format with your name and email address in the header. - Nominations are open until March 1, 2024
