"Endocrinologist in the operating room"
For all interested early career investigators who would like to see live what a day in the operating room of endocrinological surgery looks like, we have organized an extraordinary workshop “Endocrinologist in the operating room.”
The workshop will be held on April 12, 2024, at the Clinic for Endocrine Surgery, UCCS, from 07:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Participants will be able to see first-hand the specifics of various surgical techniques in operations on endocrine organs, as well as the challenges our anesthesiologists face during surgery.
Due to the specificity of work in the operating room, the number of participants is limited to 10.
Note: All participants are required to bring appropriate uniforms and shoes for the operating hall.
The UCCS Endocrine Surgery Clinic deals with the surgical treatment of diseases of the endocrine organs and annually performs about 1400 operations, of which about 120 adrenalectomies (the vast majority with a minimally invasive approach), over 1000 operations on the thyroid gland, and about 200 parathyroidectomies for primary and secondary hyperparathyroidism.
